LOK SABHA ELECTION RESULT LIVE UPDATE
All 543 elected MPs will be elected from single-member constituencies using first-past-the-post voting. The President of India nominates an additional two members from the Anglo-Indian community if he believes the community is under-represented

Lok Sabha election 2019: Voting for phase three of the Lok Sabha elections to be held in 115 parliamentary constituencies spread across 14 states on April 23. All parliamentary constituencies in Goa (2), Gujarat (26), Kerala (20), Dadra and Nagar Haveli (1) and Daman and Diu (1) will go for polling in the third phase. Assam, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Odisha will witness voting in some seats in this phase. Among others, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and West Bengal will see polling in all the seven phases.
In the third phase, ten seats of UP including Mainpuri Bareilly and Pilibhit, five each in West Bengal and Bihar will head for voting. UP has a total of 80 seats, while West Bengal and Bihar have 42 and 40 Lok Sabha seats, respectively. The Anantnag parliamentary constituency in Jammu and Kashmir will also go for polls in this phase.

In this year's Lok Sabha election RESULT 23, MAY2019, around 90 crore people are eligible to vote this time. The number is an increase of about 9 crore compared to last time. It is estimated that about 13 crore voters this time will be first-time voters. The actual number of people who do vote, however, is far less. The election is scheduled to be held in seven phases, with counting starting on 23 May. In Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal, the election will be held in all seven phases. The polling for the Anantnag constituency in the state of Jammu and Kashmir will be held in three phases, the first of its kind, due to violence in the region that had prompted the ECI to cancel a bypoll in 2016, leaving it vacant since then
Citing the constraints over availability of central forces and other logistics, the Election Commission said the elections for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly will not be held along with the Lok Sabha polls.
Most of the mainstream political parties in Jammu and Kashmir expressed disappointment and anger at the poll panel's decision not to hold Assembly elections simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls.
